GOVERNMENT AGENCY
LIAISON
Acts as the liaison between FFGC and the Governor, Cabinet
members, our legislators, and governmental departments and agencies as directed
by our FFGC President and Board of Directors.Maintains contact with federal environmental departments and agencies;
and, other non-profit organizations with similar values, goals and objectives.
Assists our members to get involved in legislative advocacy
by teaching and supporting lobbying and the laws governing nonprofit
lobbying.Reviews and monitors bills
with significant environmental impact introduced in legislative committees or
on the floor of the Senate or House of Representatives.Follows calendars and weekly schedules.Maintains contact information for our
Governor, Cabinet members and state legislators.
Works with the Government Agency Liaison and Legislation
chairmen and all interested FFGC members, to develop FFGC Position Statements
in support of and consistent with the FFGC Mission
Statement, on significant environmental and conservation issues of relevance to
our members and to society.
A resolution on any topic
of
state or national importance can be submitted to the FFGC Board of
Directors by a FFGC member. Five copies of the proposed
resolution must be in this chairman's possession at least three weeks
before a Board Meeting.
Consult Roberts Rules of Order, Newly Revised for the proper form in
presenting the resolution. Be sure to include all the reasons for
the resolution along with the names and titles to whom it will be
sent. A separate cover letter of less than one page should
highlight the relevancy of the resolution. Include a list of the
names, titles, and addresses of all persons who will receive the
resolution.
