TREES  TREES  TREES

Trees are very important to our environment.  They supply the oxygen we breathe, stabilization of the soil, prevent erosion, shelter wildlife, conservation of energy by providing shade, filtering air and adding beauty to our cities.

Trees also provide beautiful colors and they are invaluable to absorb a high percentage of carbon dioxide.  They affect areas economically, provide lumber for our homes, our furniture and paper products.

Clubs should record and report the planting of all trees so as to receive credit for an award.  Awards may be earned by entering and sending a Book of Evidence (BOE) to this Chairman at the end of the year.  Take pictures and record all the trees you plant.  Get your community involved in planting Honor and Memorial Trees.  When a tree is planted, have a ceremony for the family.  This is a very successful way of getting trees planted.

Apply for Deep South Region Tree Award #9 and for FFGC Flowering Tree Award #48 and Tree Planting Achievement Award #49.

THE TOP 10 WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE

STATE CONVENTION!!!
